Action Will Heat Up as Qualifying Tournaments Set to Begin

All three PGA TOUR Series Global Qualifying Tournaments have sold out, with each tournament featuring 120-player fields. Interest is obviously high as the Mainland China Qualifying Tournament held in January attracted 100 entrants—the most in history. While two of the Global Qualifying Tournaments—the first and second—will be at Foison Golf Club in Guangzhou, the third Qualifying Tournament will be a groundbreaking event as PGA TOUR Series-China holds a tournament away from the Greater China area for the first time. The final Global Qualifying Tournament is set for Laguna Phuket Golf Club in Phuket, Thailand. In its first four years of existence, the Series has only played official tournaments and Qualifying Tournaments in China, Hong Kong and Macau.

The cosmopolitan nature of PGA TOUR Series-China is also evident by the 360 applicants who will be vying for 2019 membership at the 72-hole qualifiers. Twenty-four countries are represented among this year’s list of entrants. Here is the breakdown of the players, by country, for the three upcoming Qualifying Tournaments:
